Real people, real stories: Adding business and economic value with Omar Al-Madhi

Since studying in the USA for a chemical engineering degree and, later, an MBA, Omar Al-Madhi has gone on to become one of the most recognizable figures in Middle Eastern business.

Named as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum, Mr Al-Madhi’s previous experience includes spells at McKinsey & Company in Dubai, Saudi Aramco, and the Saudi Arabia General Investment Authority (SAGIA). He joined Abdul Latif Jameel’s leadership team after a three-year stint as Chief Executive Officer of Volkswagen Group Saudi Arabia.

Mr Al-Madhi is now Senior Managing Director and Member of the Board of Abdul Latif Jameel Investments.

“Adding value is the key motivation for everyone involved with Abdul Latif Jameel Investments. We want to add value to the businesses we work with, the companies we acquire, the experts we deal with, the staff we recruit, and the wider Saudi Arabian economy. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of the team we’ve built, we’re proud to be achieving each of our goals.

“Abdul Latif Jameel Investments is particularly ambitious, which is why it is so important our team is full of talented, energetic and insightful individuals. Working with this team is the highlight of my professional life. We challenge each other, we work hard, and we strive for the very highest standards in how we deal with every person we meet. But beyond those qualities, the team also knows how to have fun and build long-lasting relationships.

“We’ve already made good progress in establishing a leading entity both within Abdul Latif Jameel and the local economy. Now I want Abdul Latif Jameel Investments to be recognized as a major center of excellence – and I look forward to working with my colleagues as we bring that goal to life.”
